While some have not been as successful as others in this venture, you might be surprised at the names that have made millions from their clothing lines alone in the past few years!

Kanye West: Adidas Yeezy
Kanye West is no stranger to success. Sitting on a successful career in music, it makes sense that he would want to expand his empire in other ways, which he did in 2015 with the release of the Season 1 Adidas Yeezy shoe and apparel collection.
Though the apparel didn't sell the way that the brand had hoped, Yeezy sneakers are still highly sought after by collectors and sneaker enthusiasts. In the Season 6 collection, apparel with Adidas logos has been included as well as the awesome sneakers that fans have come to know and love!
Rihanna: Fenty by Puma
Rihanna is one of the most successful women of this generation. Not only does she have an extensive catalog of popular music, but she has her own beauty line that rakes in the cash at Sephora. In 2014, German sportswear company Puma named her their new creative designer of women's collections, and for good reason.

Not only has Rihanna released numerous collections in collaboration with Puma, but she has also made their market share and profits rise in the last few years simply from being associated with the brand. Her collections of sportswear, streetwear, and shoes have been nominated at the British Fashion Awards and are much sought-after by excited fashion connoisseurs and fans alike.
Gigi Hadid: Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi
There must be something special about the power of Gigi Hadid--she is the only star as of now to share a co-designer credit on a Tommy Hilfiger line, and their partnership doesn't seem to be going anywhere as of now!
Hilfiger signed Hadid as a brand ambassador in 2015, and their line launched in 2016 as Hilfiger's first "see now, buy now" line. In the 48 hours after Tommy x Gigi's runway debut, the traffic to Hilfiger's site increased by 900%. The designer has planned more collaborations with Hadid in the future, so it seems this partnership has achieved pretty great success for the two in just a couple of years!
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter: Ivy Park
Launched in 2016 by Queen Bey herself in collaboration with TopShop, Ivy Park is an activewear brand focused on women's empowerment that the singer named in honor of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and the park in which she used to train in Houston, Parkwood Park.

The TopShop website crashed upon the brand's launch in April 2016, with items selling out extremely quickly. Knowles-Carter announced in 2019 that the brand will be collaborating with Adidas to create new shoes as well as a relaunch of Ivy Park's athleisure clothing. Since Knowles-Carter bought out the ownership to Ivy Park from TopShop, she is now one of the only African-American women to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand!
Victoria Beckham: Victoria Beckham Label
You may remember her as Posh Spice, but when it comes to fashion, Mrs. Beckham is a force to be reckoned with. In 2011, she was awarded Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards for her collection of nearly 5,000 pieces, beating out the likes of Tom Ford and Stella McCartney.
Though Beckham primarily makes designer label clothing, she also designed an exclusive line for Target, which was sold at affordable prices for the average consumer. Beckham's work has walked the runway at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week on multiple occasions and continues to dominate in the world of celebrity fashion.
Gwen Stefani: L.A.M.B. And Harajuku Lovers
Gwen Stefani has been a purveyor of haute couture style since the launch of L.A.M.B. in 2003. Though the line was at first a bit slow to garner positive critical attention, no one can deny that the pop diva created a unique brand specific to her own interests and point of view.

L.A.M.B. made its runway debut in 2004, and Harajuku Lovers, based on her beloved backup dancers, made its debut in the mid-2000s as a line of purses and fragrances. Stefani has also started to develop eyewear, which is sold under her L.A.M.B. and new GX line.
Jay-Z And Damon Dash: Rocawear
A line initially conceived by Roc-A-Fella Records, Rocawear was headed by Jay-Z and Damon Dash in 1999. The company greatly expanded their product selections in later years to include juniors clothing, socks, and sandals, as well as the street-wear they are known for.
Though Jay-Z sold the rights to Rocawear to Iconix Brand Group, he will still oversee licensing, product development, and marketing of the brand. in 2013, it was reported that Rocawear makes around $700 million-plus in annual sales!
Kimora Lee Simmons: Baby Phat
Founded in 1998, Baby Phat catered to women that looked to urban and streetwear fashion for their style. Kimora Lee Simmons was appointed president of the brand, becoming its creative marketing director and "face." In 2002, the brand had reaped around $265 million in sales combined with offshoot brand Phat Farm.

Though Lee Simmons split from Baby Phat in 2010, a move that didn't seem to be her decision, as of 2019 she is now again associated with the brand, and they are currently collaborating with fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 on an affordable clothing line.
Jessica Simpson: The Jessica Simpson Collection
Jessica Simpson used to be one of the most famous pop stars of the mid-2000s, but now she's a marketing master that has created quite the fashion empire. First launching in 2006, the Jessica Simpson Collection was first limited to a shoe collab with Nine West, but the success of that venture prompted Simpson to expand the line.
The Jessica Simpson Collection was available at 650 stores around the country as of 2010, and made $1 billion in sales in 2015. It's safe to say Simpson's brand isn't dying anytime soon!
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: The Row
The brainchild of former child actors Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, The Row was first developed in 2006 as a challenge for Ashley to create what she felt to be the "perfect t-shirt" that would flatter almost every figure and body type. The sisters developed seven initial pieces for the collection, including a t-shirt, leggings, and a wool dress.
Though the stars were at first reluctant to attach their names to their brand, The Row eventually became successful in its own right. The twins have won the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Womenswear Designer of the Year award, opened 2 flagship stores in the U.S., and expanded the brand to 164 stores in 37 countries. By 2012, The Row had generated $1 billion in sales!
