Gwyneth Paltrow revealed one of her biggest life regrets, and fans will likely be surprised to know that it would've involved a criminal activity, had she gone through with it – stealing a very expensive purse, to be exact.

During a 73 Questions with Vogue video, which was shared on YouTube earlier this month, the actress had a quick answer when asked if there’s anything she wishes she would’ve taken from set over the years. “I’ve actually never stolen anything from set,” Gwyneth replied. “But I wish I had stolen the Birkin bag from The Royal Tenenbaums.”

“Is it too late?” the interviewer asks, to which Gwyneth replies, “I think it’s too late.”

The Royal Tenenbaums is a comedy-drama from 2001, directed by Wes Anderson and written and starring Owen Wilson. It features a star-studded cast, including Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman, Luke Wilson, and of course, Gwyneth Paltrow, who clearly still marvels over the accessories used in the film.

The movie recounts the darkly comedic tale of the dysfunctional Tenenbaum family, whose estranged patriarch, Royal, pretends to be terminally ill in an attempt to reunite with his gifted but troubled children, leading to a series of confrontations and reconciliations.

For her part, Gwyneth portrayed Margot Tenenbaum, a brooding former playwright characterized by her distinctive style, including black kohl eyeliner, a long fur coat, and her short hair sleekly parted to the side and secured with a clip. But the character’s signature accessory is a brown Birkin bag – the one that Gwyneth revealed got away.

It's unclear how much the Birkin in The Royal Tenenbaums retails for, but considering the Hermes bag is one of the most exclusive designer purses on the resale market, it likely has a high price tag.
