Dove Cameron is fast becoming the Disney Channel’s “it” girl. And as we’ve all seen before, there have been plenty of past “it” girls that have either made a great career for themselves, or crashed and burned after hitting the top within a matter of seconds. Now, we don’t know what it is with Disney Channel stars going bad (and especially the female ones) but it happens during each cycle. The network helps one girl rise to the top just to see her tumble down hard later on. Either they can’t take all the pressure that comes with being a Disney Channel star, or they’ve gotten a taste of the good life too fast and too soon. Whatever the case may be, it’s a vicious cycle that seems to have no end. And unfortunately, Dove Cameron seems to be right smack in the middle of it right now.

She Acts Like A Diva

Right now Dove Cameron is one of the biggest stars to come out of the Disney Channel. She’s the new Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez so to speak. She’s also quickly becoming a household name all over the world. And as a result, there are a lot of reports that suggest she’s also become an onscreen diva. And let the rumor mill begin! Dove is the star of the show and she will let you know it!

And while a lot of people think that she’s a diva, Dove has made it no secret that she has a huge problem with bullying. She once said, “I don't know that there's any rhyme or reason to bullying... it's not even the bully's fault, which is why it's such a difficult thing to combat.”

There Are Rumors Of Her Being Unprofessional

Not only is Dove Cameron being accused of acting like a Disney Channel diva, but there has also been multiple reports of her acting very unprofessional on the set of her Disney channel shows. For someone so young as Dove, this can easily be a career ending trait.

With that being said, Dove admits to having her “dark” days. And being a celebrity in the spotlight hasn’t made things better. She said, “When you’re not subjected to tragedy or loss or darkness it can be kind of confusing. Because you think that a lot of little things truly matter or they can affect you more easily… and I think it’s true. I think if you think something is going to affect you, I don’t think anything is worse than anybody else’s truth. It’s just our experience and what we can compare it to.”

She Likes To Throw Shade

Dove Cameron might look sweet as sugar from the outside, but apparently from the inside the girl likes to throw a lot of shade. When she’s got something to say, you better believe that she will say it on Twitter (just like the rest of the celebrity world, mind you). She’s not afraid to speak her mind, or throw someone under the bus if the occasion forces her to. Of course, she won’t name any names in the process, though.

But Dove doesn’t see all of her shade as a problem. She said, “My version of a good role model is everything that I have strived to become over the years, as I have a deep desire to live an honest life and give relentlessly and openly to people who look up to me.”

Her Behavior On Twitter Gets Her In Trouble

Speaking of Twitter, a lot of people think that young stars like Dove Cameron need to take a break from social media. That’s because a lot of the things that they tweet and write about on a daily basis gets them in trouble.

Dove has also made it no secret that she can’t stand the paparazzi or overzealous fans who won’t give her any space. Some people even think that she’s nearing a mental breakdown. She recently tweeted, “PSA: if you see me stress-crying in an airport (or anywhere really) & rushing around & it’s CLEAR that i’m having a rough day—PLEASE don’t take pictures of me, scream my name, or follow me. just like you wouldn’t to any other human. i love y’all. but please treat me like a human.”

Her Feud With Sofia Carson

As I’m sure we all know by now, Hollywood is a cutthroat industry. Once you make it to the top, it won’t take very long for you to realize that it’s rather lonely up there. And you are definitely making things worse if you are feuding with your co-stars. Apparently, that seems to be the case with Dove Cameron as she had a long-standing feud with her Descendants co-star Sofia Carson.

Dove has dismissed rumors of her Sofia feud by saying, “This may be a bit of a broad statement, but I don't think there's anyone that I've met that I haven't created a bit of a deep relationship with. It's a really lovely thing to create a relation with people that might not anticipate that closeness. And that's kind of the light of my life, getting to be close to people.”

Selena Gomez is one Disney Channel star who has had her fair share of ups and downs. I mean, we’ve all seen it by now, haven’t we? The girl has been to rehab so many times for personal and professional reasons that we’ve stopped counting a long time ago.

A lot of people think that the same might soon apply to Dove Cameron. Now, Dove hasn’t shown us any evidence that she is going down the same slippery slope that Selena went on a few years back, but she’s definitely moving in that direction. She Wants Out From Disney

Now, this is not confirmed, but several reports have suggested that Dove Cameron is looking to leave the Disney Channel already. And who can blame her? She’s got her sights set on much bigger and better things. By leaving the network that helped make her a star, Dove is looking to shed her good girl image and go into the same territory that Miley, Selena, and Demi have gone in before her.

She’s also opened up about her anxiety by saying, “I deal with anxiety quite a lot. But anxiety is fleeting. Anxiety is up and down. And anxiety comes and goes. Her Fallout With Her Ex Ryan McCarten

It’s without a doubt that breakups are always hard. But when you are a celebrity that is in the spotlight and with a broken heart, it has to be even tougher. But Dove took things one step further by dissing her ex Ryan McCarten on Instagram. Talk about classy, right? Yeah, we didn’t think so, either.

It was only a quick second before Dove debuted her new love interest, Thomas Doherty, on Instagram after her breakup from Ryan. The two called off their engagement in October of 2016. A lot of fans thought it was the lowest of the low as Ryan didn’t even have enough time to process what the heck was going on! Apparently, Dove likes to move quickly. Now, no one knows what kind of emotional problems Dove deals with behind closed doors. But what her fans do know is that she’s tried to reach out for help on a number of different occasions. She won’t say it, but she has tweeted some troubling messages on social media. And while her messages seem to be very vague, it’s also an indication that she’s not happy behind the scenes.

Dove tweeted, “I wanted to let you all know that today is a very hard day. For no reason. Sometimes we can break our own hearts, and sometimes our brains eat themselves. Not every day is a good day. Don’t be fooled by what you see online or on TV. Life is varied. And it’s ok not to be ok.”

Her Bad Habits

We’ve all got bad habits, right? Well, Dove Cameron is no different. And she’s actually admitted that she could do a better job of being a more professional actress on the set of her movies and television shows. And while we can sit here and dissect all of Dove Cameron’s flaws all day long, at least she was pretty honest with this one here. And yes, we are sure we’ve all done this in the past at work, too.

Knowing that the camera is always on her, Dove is expected to look camera ready at all times. But that wasn’t the case while she was filming The Descendants 3. She said, "This is so unprofessional — but every scene you’ve seen me do, I’ve had gum hidden in my mouth or gum in my costume hidden up my sleeve or something.”

Her Questionable Instagram Posts

Let’s get this out of the way here: Dove Cameron is a very beautiful girl. There’s no denying it. She’s got that certain “something” that makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd. But at the same time, a lot of people can’t help but notice that she’s moving a little too fast and a little too soon, if you know what we mean. Her core audience are pre-teens yet she’s dressing up and posting social media photos that are pretty questionable, given who her followers are.

Her Radical Physical Transformation

Did Dove Cameron alter her look a little bit? That’s what everyone wants to know. A lot of people have noticed that Dove looks very different from the first The Descendants and the second one. Yet, the rumors have been unconfirmed. And for her part, Dove hasn’t said anything about them either. Still, all of the before and after photos do tell a story on their own.

For Dove though, she wants to help empower girls and inspire them to be whoever they want to be. She has said, “I think girls especially get so caught up in thinking like, 'Oh I have to be prim or proper or fun and sunshiny' when, like, you can be literally anything. You can be mannish; you can do whatever, and it's acceptable.”

Her "Dark Childhood" Questioned

Dove Cameron wants us to feel very sorry for her. Even though she’s a privileged actress who is making better than average paychecks, Dove often talks about her dark and troubled childhood. And while she hasn’t gone into much detail about what happened, she did admit to being bullied by her peers to no end.

She put it this way, “Here’s the thing – and I’ve been vocal about this – I’ve had the craziest childhood imaginable. It was so dark. So because of that, the light in my life has become a medication for that. And it was like I refused to have that darkness in my life anymore. Because I knew what it was like to go to the darkest possible place. And because of that, you get really clear on what matters and what doesn’t. That’s been such a blessing.”
