Williams went public in 2011, yet still faces financial limitations compared to leading teams, with an estimated value of $725 million.

Red Bull started as Minardi in 1985, was renamed Toro Rosso in 2005, and later became Alpha Tauri in 2020. As an affiliate of the Red Bull organization and a significant supporter, AlphaTauri functions within a budget that most other F1 teams would consider extremely modest.

5 Alpine

Alpine is the new name given to the Renault F1 Formula 1 team owned by Groupe Renault and comes with the French manufacturer in 2021. One of Renault's sports and racing divisions, Alpine, has a factory team history since 1977.

The Alpine team is a small one, which costs around $1.4 billion; it is considered one of the most significant budgets in Formula 1 racing. The Alpine team succeeded in the early 2000s with championships in 2005 and 2006. More recently, the team has been competing in the midfield of F1 races.

Alpine seeks to renew competitiveness and exploits Formula 1's ever-increasing popularity as a promotional platform for the manufacturer's Renault-owned Alpine marque, with driver talents like Fernando Alonso.

4 McLaren

McLaren, an historic F1 team, recorded the most significant leap in value in 2023, and is now third on the list with a valuation of $2.2 billion (after its IPO in 2020).

McLaren has grown out of F1 racing to become an international supercar and technology brand, with its roots in the 1960s. This came from recent struggles on track, which necessitated a radical restructure and focus on returning McLaren to the top of the sport.

3 Red Bull
